Speed up FireFox startup time with SpeedyFox

Mozilla FireFox may be a top class browser when it comes to speed, security, etc, but when it comes to startup time, its possibly one of the slowest.

We can speed up startup time of FireFox with a click of the mouse.

FireFox may appear to be fast after a fresh/new installation, but after a while it begins to get slow. Sometimes it takes 20 seconds to start up.

You can avoid this by defragmenting the profile databases with a small software called SpeedyFox, developed by CrystalIdea Software Inc

SpeedyFox is a portable software, i.e, you don’t have to install it.

You can test this in a few steps.

1. Finish your browsing session and close FireFox. (make sure its not running)

2. Double click on Speedyfox.exe to open it.

3. Left-click on “Speed up my FireFox” button. it will be optimized within a few seconds

4. You can open FireFox and observe that the startup time has been improved considerably

You don’t have to do this everyday, maybe once in a week or so to keep FireFox’s profile databases optimized.
